A Little Sweet Inspiration!

The topics of inspiration and motivation have been at the top of my thinking cap the last few days and so I thought I'd try to wade into those waters by starting with something very non-threatening and fun.

It's the perfect fall toffee recipe. Goes down real easy during football games too.
WARNING: It's addictive!

It's from one of my Votre Vu associates and it's called: "Caramel Delicieux"

A cast iron skillet is recommended for the best flavor. You mix it in a skillet and then pour it into an extra-large cookie sheet to set up.

Ingredients:
4 sticks of butter
4 cups brown sugar
3-4 large Hershey bars
(is your sweet tooth tingling yet?)
2 cups favorite chopped nuts, any type

Stir on medium heat for 12 minutes. cook and stir CONSTANTLY until almost burnt. Undercooked will result in a chewy caramel, good for using atop ice cream but overcooked will make better brickle quickly, so monitor your pot of sugar at all times! (there are so many ways one could go here).

OK, back on track.

Pour into a lightly buttered extra-large sheet pan, let sit for a moment or two, then place broken chocolate pieces on top to melt.

After melting, lightly spread the chocolate over the entire pan of toffee, careful to not dredge up the bottom, and then sprinkle with nuts to your desired coverage.

Let toffee stand and harden in a cool and dry place. After the toffee has firmed up completely, smash the layer into pieces to give away. Don't forget to save some for yourself, as a reward for all your hard work!

Do not let the toffee set out in humid conditions.

Ok mon amis, bon appetite!
